Horn player based in the Twin Cities. Performing with the Rochester Symphony, Minnesota Winds, and ensembles across the Midwest. Equally at home on the concert stage, in a musical theater orchestra, or chamber setting.
Matthew Renz is a versatile horn player with extensive experience in orchestral, chamber, and musical theater settings. He currently performs with the Rochester Symphony and Minnesota Winds, and previously served as Principal Horn of the Mankato Symphony for nearly a decade.
He has performed with the La Crosse Symphony and Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestra, and has played at the Guthrie Theater and Chanhassen Dinner Theaters. In 2005, he performed with the Disney Collegiate All-Star Band in Orlando, FL.
A founding member of both Compass Rose Brass Ensemble — where he holds a recording credit on the 2013 album Brass Tidings — and the Minnesota Horn Quartet, Matthew is a leading voice in the Twin Cities brass community.
